New Ahsoka Details Explore Her Character Journey From Rebels & The Mandalorian Season 2-TGN

Summary

  • A new plot description confirms Ahsoka Tano embarks on a solitary mission to hunt down Thrawn and find her missing friend Ezra Bridger, as seen in the Rebels series finale.

  • Ahsoka’s loneliness and commitment to her mission is emphasized, portraying her as a wanderer and loner with no allies or companions.

  • Ahsoka’s cameo in The Book of Boba Fett suggests she sought specific knowledge from Luke Skywalker, potentially related to a remote Jedi Temple and her quest against the Empire.

New Ahsoka plot details have shone a light on her character journey from Star Wars Rebels, The Mandalorian season 2, and The Book of Boba Fett. Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan, Ahsoka Tano was voiced by Ashley Eckstein in animated shows such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. She’s now played by Rosario Dawson in live-action, however, with Ahsoka now starring in her own Disney+ TV show.

Entertainment Weekly has released an intriguing summary of Ahsoka’s new status quo, one drawn from various interviews conducted at Star Wars Celebration 2023. This hints at her character journey after Star Wars Rebels‘ finale, and on into The Mandalorian era.

“When the series begins, Ahsoka is lonely. She’s crossed paths with other Force-users like Grogu and Luke Skywalker, but Dawson describes her as a “lone wolf,” a ronin-like wanderer committed to a single goal: hunting down the villain Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) for clues to help her find her missing friend Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi). It’s a vow she made in the Rebels series finale, and in Ahsoka, her journey continues.”

The image is of Ahsoka as a wanderer, a loner who has no real friends or allies left – but who is utterly committed to her mission.

Why Did Ahsoka Visit Luke Skywalker In The Book Of Boba Fett?

This naturally raises questions about Ahsoka’s cameo in The Book of Boba Fett, which saw the former Jedi Padawan visit Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Temple on Ossus. If Ahsoka is so committed to her mission, then it’s logical to assume she wasn’t just paying a friendly visit. The most likely scenario is that she was seeking specific knowledge from Luke, knowledge he perhaps gained in the first few years after Return of the Jedi, when he traveled the galaxy trying to learn as much about the Jedi as he could.

The Ahsoka trailers have hinted Ahsoka Tano’s quest will take her to a remote Jedi Temple, where she will be attacked by agents of the Empire – including a mysterious new Inquisitor called Marrok. It’s possible Luke was the one to tell Ahsoka how to reach this temple. If that is indeed the case, the Ahsoka Disney+ TV show picks up straight after The Book of Boba Fett, finally cementing this part of the Star Wars timeline.
