“The Galaxy Is Not Safe”: New Ahsoka Trailer Reveals The Highest Stakes Yet For Star Wars’ Disney Plus Shows-TGN

A new trailer for Ahsoka sees the titular character’s enemies in hot pursuit, raising the stakes higher than any previous Star Wars Disney+ show.

Summary

  • Ahsoka’s new trailer reveals previously unseen footage, raising the stakes for the Disney+ Star Wars show.

  • Ahsoka and her allies face a flurry of villains, including Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, Morgan Elsbeth, and the mysterious Inquisitor Marrok.

  • The ultimate villain in this contest is Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Ahsoka and her allies must work together to stop the dark side’s resurgence.

A new Ahsoka trailer has shown off an array of previously unseen footage, raising the stakes higher than any previous Star Wars Disney+ show. While things have gotten tight for characters like Din Djarin and Grogu in The Mandalorian, the series was self-contained enough at the time for there to be no major ramifications on the larger galaxy. Obi-Wan Kenobi saw the titular Jedi Master and the Skywalker twins both under duress, but it was a foregone conclusion that they would survive and their secrets would remain intact.

Presented as a TV spot on the official Star Wars YouTube channel, the new Ahsoka footage sees several threats being deployed on the heroes. Order 66 survivor Baylan Skoll is in a position of authority, warning that Ahsoka herself is one of a few Jedi remaining and is presumably coming for Thrawn. Marrok the Inquisitor appears in two locations to fight Ahsoka, who’s accompanied by Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla.

Ahsoka Is Changing The Game With New Threats

Unlike previous Disney+ Star Wars shows, Ahsoka will see a flurry of villains going after th heroines as they attempt to stop a major threat from rising. Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati provide a wrinkle in the typical power structure, dark side Force users who can help level the playing field. Morgan Elsbeth returns with magick, heavily suggesting she was once a Nightsister of Dathomir. The mysterious Inquisitor Marrok has been a frequent point of speculation, a foe who outlived the rest of his kind. At the top of the chain is Grand Admiral Thrawn, the ultimate villain in this contest.

For the odds to seem so stacked against Ahsoka and her allies with just one shot of Thrawn revealed in promotional material is remarkable. What they’re seeking to stop is something bigger than just Thrawn’s return – the Chiss has something dark up sleeve, or could perhaps be a red herring for something worse. It will take the combined efforts of Ahsoka Tano and her Ghost crew allies to have a chance at stopping the dark side’s resurgence in Ahsoka.

Episodes 1 and 2 of Ahsoka release Wednesday, August 23 on Disney+.
