How being attractive for a living can affect body image.

Hello Friend,

Happy 4th of July!

Personally, I’ll be spending the afternoon with my family, delving into the restorative and self-care side of the social justice journey…because you can’t keep the fight for liberation going without filling your own tank, can you?

But before that, I wanted to take a moment to tell you about the podcast episode that just came out!

First of all – in case you haven’t heard of it yet – my podcast is called ,This is (not) about your bodyand it’s a place where I bring guests to talk about anything Real things that body image issues are really about, because they are never just how you look. 😉

And while I’ve had some incredible speaking with my guests so far this season, I’m especially excited about today’s episode, which features a woman named Isabelle Miller. Isabelle is a curve model and content creator who runs her own business through social media and OnlyFans, and her accounts are filled with sexy glamorous photos of herself in bikinis and lingerie.

I was already interested in talking to Isabelle because she essentially earns her living attractive and desirable to menand I wanted to hear more about the impact such a company has on one’s body image.

But on top of that, Isabelle Also have gone through the experience of gaining a significant amount of weight while running this company in the public eyeand used that experience to find her way out of the body uncertainties to body acceptance.

The episode is called ,Weight Gain in the Public Eye with Isabelle Millerand in it, Isabelle shares her unique story with us, including:

  • What it was like to face the worst case scenario in her work, and not only to survive it, but actually see her business steadily to grow.

  • How she was able to break away from people’s judgments about her body, and decide that the only person she needs to please is herself.

  • Tons of nuanced insights about confidence, self-esteem and how to solve body image issues.

If you’ve ever thought that significant weight gain would be your worst case scenario, or worried that a larger body means people won’t find you desirable or attractive, then this episode is for you.

I wish you a day full of joy,

Jessica
