Prior to the beginning of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, director Matt Shakman said Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie would start filming in early 2024 to make its 2025 release date. However, Marvel since delayed Fantastic Four from February to May 2025, so it’s likely filming will start later as well. Additionally, since the strikes are still ongoing, Marvel can’t continue to assemble their Fantastic Four cast. Despite this, a new report has surfaced.

Now, Jeff Sneider of Above the Line is reporting that Marvel Studios is eyeing Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four movie, indicating they’re frontrunners for the roles. As of publication, Marvel, Kirby and Quinn have not commented on the report.
