The cast of Netflix’s hit show Heart stopper gave anti-LGBTQ+ religious protesters the middle finger on Pride in London, while also spreading pure queer joy on their own float.

Stars of the beloved show – which was adapted for television from the webcomic and graphic novels of the same name by Alice Oseman – hit back at bigots to demonstrate in small numbers against the annual Pride event.

Stars like Joe Locke, Kit Connor, Yasmin Finney, Will Gao, Sebastian Croft, Kizzy Edgell and Tobie Donovan – among others – made their voices heard by dismissing the protesters.

Video footage captured by PinkNews during the parade on Saturday (July 1) shows the young cast members pointing their middle fingers directly at the anti-LGBTQ+ protesters, dancing along to the music and blowing kisses at them.

Prior to this, the cast was seen getting into the Pride spirit by dancing to Beyonce, mingling with fans, and taking adorable photos with each other.

Locke – who plays Charlie – was seen dancing with Donovan to Kylie Minogue’s hit “Padam Padam,” which dominated the airwaves during Pride Month.

Finney, who will star in the highly anticipated new series Doctor Who with Sex education star Ncuti Gatwa, wearing a trans pride flag around her shoulders and also vibrating to the party tunes.

Speaking to PinkNews at the Pride event, Locke wished everyone a “happy Pride”.

The official float is a stepping stone for the cast, who joined last year’s parade on foot, and features the show’s iconic logo in a blue and orange color scheme.

Following the release of the first series in 2022, the show’s cast impressed Pride in London when they rejected hateful bigots during the parade.

In a video shared on social media by Sky News journalist Scott Beasley, the young actors were seen dancing, waving their middle fingers and loudly singing along to Whitney Houston’s hit “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” in response to the protestors’ hateful rhetoric.

Fans were quick to praise the Heartstopper cast for taking a stand against the anti-LGBTQ+ group, and many who took to social media absolutely loved their true support for the community.

Season two of Heart stopper will be released on Netflix on August 3, and a third series is already in the works.
