Is Spider-Man 4 starring Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi really happening?

While Sony Pictures may not have made a statement about spiderman 4, it’s important to remember that there’s not one, but two major Hollywood strikes going on right now, as the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA have been fighting for better deals. As long as the strikes are going on, Sony Pictures probably won’t be able to announce any projects because actors can’t sign up for something like spiderman 4 during a strike.

At least, if spiderman 4 is actually in serious contention to be developed, Raimi would be the only one who could be attached to it, as scripts can’t be worked on until the strikes are over either. Whether it’s from Maguire spiderman 4 actually happening is the bigger question, but given the huge success of Spider-Man: No Way Homewouldn’t it be a shock if Sony Pictures is secretly planning a follow-up project with Maguire’s Peter Parker, given the resurgent interest after 2021. Or that an official spiderman 4 or just one Spider-Man project that Maguire and Raimi are attached to remains to be seen.

As a variation of spiderman 4 happens, there are many reasons to be excited, especially since Raimi and Maguire always had more stories in mind before Sony Pictures canceled the project over a decade ago. It would also be intriguing to see who would actually come back from the original Spider-Man trilogy alongside Maguire.
