Jason Momoa becomes a villain in stunning DC Universe fan art -TGN

New DC Universe fan art imagines Jason Momoa as Lobo, teasing a mysterious DC Studios project afterwards Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The DCEU is coming to an end this year as James Gunn and Peter Safran develop the new DC Universe. Currently, Superman: Legacy is the film they are working on, but different projects are also in different stages of development. 2023 will end with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomwhich has undergone dramatic changes behind the scenes with only a few months to go before its theatrical release.

In spite of the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom problems, fans are already trying to imagine Momoa in Gunn’s DC Universe. Designed by Reel anarchypresents new fan art Momoa as Lobo from DC Comics, the infamous alien bounty hunter.

The first draft comes with the pitch of Lobo essentially “the or a villain” for Gunns Superman: Legacy, starring David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel. Given some of Lobo and Superman’s comic history, this wouldn’t be the craziest idea for DC Studios to take on.

Reel anarchy also revealed an AI video of Momoa being transformed into Lobo for the DC Universe. Momoa has made it clear on several occasions that Lobo is one of his all-time favorite characters, leading to speculation that the secret DC Studios project he’s attached to is meant to be the DC bounty hunter.

Which DCEU actors have been confirmed to return for James Gunn’s DC Universe?

While it’s still some time away, a number of DCEU actors have already been confirmed to return for Gunn’s DC Universe. As for television, John Cena will continue to play the titular character Peacekeeper season 2, as Viola Davis reprises the role of Amanda Waller in the Waller series. Peacekeeper stars are confirmed to appear in Waller Steve Agee’s John Economos is already lined up to show up, while the door is open for Jennifer Holland’s Emilia Harcourt, Danielle Brooks’ Leota Adebayo, and Freddie Storma’s Vigilante. Agee will also voice John Commands from creatureswith the return of Sean Gunn as Weasel and also as the new character, GI Robot.

One of the bigger DCEU returns is Nathan Fillion, who played TDK in Gunn’s The suicide squad back in 2021. However, this will differ significantly compared to his fellow DCEU stars, as Fillion was cast as Green Lantern in Superman: Legacy, specifically as Guy Gardner, one of the famed Emerald Knights. Whether or not Gunn has lined up additional DCEU actors to come in as new characters remains to be seen. Since Fillion is attached as a huge DCEU hero this time around, it wouldn’t be shocking if Gunn has already tapped at least a few more well-known DCEU actors in new roles.

If Momoa’s mysterious project with DC Studios turns out to be anything related to Lobo, it already seems like fans are falling behind, as the Aquarius star would fit perfectly as the popular bounty hunter. While behind-the-scenes revelations suggest so Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom could potentially continue the DCEU’s recent filmmaking woes, this shouldn’t stop Momoa from playing a completely different character in the DCU, and indeed could encourage a recast for the actor that will allow him to continue in the franchise regardless. Hopefully Momoa’s actual place is in the DC Universe will soon become clearer, whatever it may be.
