Jack Quaid Gives Blunt Response To Marvel’s Fantastic Four Johnny Storm Casting Rumor-TGN

Summary

  • Jack Quaid clarifies that he is not playing Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four reboot, but he appreciates the flattery.

  • Recent rumors about Quaid’s casting were debunked, with another actor being considered for the role.

  • Due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, casting announcements for the Fantastic Four movie and other projects are currently on hold.

Despite rumors floating around, Jack Quaid sets the record straight about playing Johnny Storm in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four reboot. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will finally be introducing the comic publisher’s first family as the Fantastic Four are on their way and will be getting their own movie in Phase 6. Matt Shakman is officially set to direct the reboot, while Josh Friedman was tapped in March to rewrite the latest draft of the script.

However, when it comes to Fantastic Four casting, rumors have been circulating for months, and the latest one included The Boys’ very own Jack Quaid. The actor is best known for playing Hughie on the Amazon Prime series, and is currently voicing Clark Kent on My Adventures With Superman, but Quaid took to social media to address the Fantastic Four casting rumors.

Quaid stated bluntly that he is “not playing Johnny Storm,” while stressing that he’s “flattered.” He ended his post with a reminder that people can donate to the SAG-AFTRA foundation as actors are currently in the middle of a major Hollywood strike.

Marvel’s Fantastic Four Johnny Storm Casting Rumors Explained

The latest batch of Fantastic Four rumors began on the newest episode of The Hot Mic podcast, where Sneider reported information he had heard about the reboot. In the case of Johnny Storm, he claimed that Quaid was supposedly getting tapped for that role. However, not long after, Sneider took to social media to walk back the information as he had received a new tip from a source.

According to his insider information, it was not Quaid, but a different “popular fancast” for the role of Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four movie. Nearly half an hour later, The Hot Mic co-host was instead claiming that it was Stranger Things’ Joseph Quinn who was being eyed for the heroic Marvel character. To this point, Marvel Studios have not confirmed or debunked the Quinn rumor, as no casting announcements can be made due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Time will tell who will actually end up as any of the four leading heroes in the Fantastic Four reboot, but until the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, along with the Writers Guild of America strike, it remains to be seen. Given the SAG-AFTRA strike, it is hard to imagine if any rumor right now is sustainable, as an actor couldn’t even sign on for the role if they wanted to, including a film like Fantastic Four. For now, the world will have to keep speculating who Marvel Studios may actually tap for the Fantastic Four movie as the heroes come to life in the MCU.
