Warning! SPOILERS for the Mayans MC Season 5 finale.Claytan Cardenas reveals that Ezekiel’s (JD Pardo) shocking death in Maya MC season 5 was “difficultto film. Ever since the crime drama premiered on FX in 2018, EZ has been a main character throughout. However, at the end of the final season, he turns out to be an informant and is subsequently killed by his team.

Cardenas recently appeared on the Maya’s Templo Talk podcast and talked about what it was like to shoot EZ’s death. Read Cardenas’ comments about that moment below:

“That was a tough day. That was a difficult scene to film. I remember the day we started rolling, people were in tears. I was most in tears. I lay on the floor crying. That was a really tough moment. I think at that point it finally hit everyone like, ‘Oh, this is over. This is no longer happening. There is no return tomorrow. This is it. I may never see some of these guys again.“
