(IND vs AUS) Memes Galore As Jasprit Bumrah Gets Smashed By Marsh In 3rd ODI-TGN

India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah had two nightmarish spells of bowling in the 3rd ODI against Australia on Wednesday in Rajkot.

Yes, the pitch was flat at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, but the Australian top-order took the initiative from the onset of their innings to go after India’s main man, Jasprit Bumrah, and that put pressure on Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna too.

The moment Mitchell Marsh smoothly cracked a cover drive boundary on the 5th ball of the first over of Australia’s innings, bowled by Bumrah, it seemed likely that a big first innings total, and a proper hammering of the Indian bowlers was on the cards in Rajkot.

In Bumrah’s second over, Marsh truly went after India’s spearhead pacer, smashing him for two fours and a six. In the next over, bowled by Siraj, David Warner joined the party and the pair looted 78 runs in the first 8 overs with Warner getting to his third consecutive half-century, in 32 balls.

Even as Krishna dismissed Warner, Steve Smith joined Marsh in the middle. Now Marsh took over the aggression from Warner while Smith motored along nicely at a strike rate still of over 100. Marsh bludgeoned Krishna, Sundar, and Jadeja for boundaries and soon brought up his own fifty.

When Jasprit Bumrah returned in the 23rd over, Marsh was well set and the Aussie opener tore into Bumrah, whacking 3 fours and a six in one over. This over in which he conceded 19 runs is the joint-most expensive over Bumrah has bowled in his ODI career. Bumrah’s fifth over saw Smith also taking a boundary and he was removed from the attack.

Bumrah’s first five overs went for 51 runs! One of the world’s best being taken to the cleaners today. This led to a spate of memes on Bumrah.
