Mukesh Kumar Didn’t Give Even A Single Boundary On His T20I Debut-TGN

After impressing one ball with his performances on his Test and ODI debuts, Mukesh Kumar also made his debut for the Indian cricket team in the shortest format of the game for the first T20I match against West Indies. Mukesh received his T20I debut cap from Yuzvendra Chahal ahead of the first match of the series at Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Tarouba.

Mukesh Kumar Etched His Name In History Books

On his debut match, the young Indian pacer has etched his name into the history books as he became only the second Indian player to make his International debut in all three formats of the game, i.e, T20I, ODI, and Test, on the same tour after T Natarajan. 

He became the 103rd player for Team India to debut in the T20I format. Earlier, Natarajan, who was a net bowler for India in the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar Trophy, achieved this feat and now Mukesh has done the same.

Mukesh, who hails from a humble background, has always been a promising figure in the fast-bowling world. He has earned praise from all corners for his line and length with the ball, combined with his aggressive pace.

In the just-concluded 1st T20I match against West Indies, Mukesh Kumar made an exceptional debut with the ball. Though, he went wicketless in his debut game, however, he impressed one and all with his stunning performance. While he was brilliant throughout the game, however, it was his stellar spell in the 18th and 20th over that stole the show.

Mukesh Kumar was given the responsibility to bowl the 18th and 20th over, which resulted in 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2+nb, 1, 1. Interestingly, he didn’t bowl a single boundary on his debut game.

Apart from him, Yuzvendra Chahal struck twice in his first over to remove Kyle Mayers (1) and Brandon King (28) before Kuldeep sent back Charles for 3 to leave the West Indies in trouble at 58 for 3 in 7.3 overs.
