Rohit Sharma Revealed The Name Of His Favorite Batting Partner-TGN

Indian captain Rohit Sharma is one of the finest white-ball batters of all time. He recently achieved a new milestone in his career as he became the 2nd fastest batter to score 10,000 runs in ODIs, and in the T20Is he is already the second-leading run-getter of all time.

Rohit Sharma made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 2007 against Ireland and was also a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup-winning team under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. Despite making his presence felt in the 2007 World Cup, Rohit failed to cement his position in the Indian team. However, after being promoted to open the innings during the 2013 Champions Trophy, things changed for good for him.

Meanwhile, over all these years, Rohit Sharma has established great partnerships with many players including the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and now with Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan as well.

His partnerships with these players have added many runs for India at the top.

Recently, during the Asia Cup 2023, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also completed 5000 runs as batting partners in the ODI format. They achieved the milestone in just 86 innings to become the fastest pair to score 5,000 runs in the 50-over format of the game.

Recently, when Rohit Sharma was asked to pick his favorite batting partner, he ignored Kohli and instead picked out-of-favor batter Shikhar Dhawan. Yes, Rohit picked Shikhar Dhawan. Both the cricketers have batted 117 times together in ODIs and have added 5193 runs together. They are the fourth-most successful opening pair in the ODI format. Speaking to IANs, Rohit said:

Shikhar Dhawan and I had a very strong friendship on and off the field. We have played so many years together and it’s a partnership that I enjoyed being a part of. He has a very infectious energy and it’s just a lot of fun to be around him, and the records that we set as an opening pair for India.”
