Sanju Samson Revealed Why Being An Indian Player Is Challenging-TGN

After getting ignored in the first ODI match, Sanju Samson failed to make the most of the opportunity in the second ODI match. However, the keeper-batter made a stunning comeback in the third and final ODI match as Samson scored a 41-ball 51 runs.

After being asked to bat first, India got off to a great start, with openers Ishan Kishan (77) and Shubman Gill (85) stitching a 140-run stand.

Sanju Samson Revealed Why Being An Indian Player Is Challenging

Samson walked out to bat at number 4 position, with all guns blazing as he smashed a six on the very second ball he faced in his inning. He took charge against Yannic Cariah as he smashed the West Indies spinner straight down the ground for a six. Two deliveries later, Samson smashed another six over long-on. He also smashed a six against Jayden Seales and then took Cariah to the cleaners once again for his fourth six.

His magnificent knock ensured that the Indian cricket team didn’t lose momentum after the openers gave a good start. He played with positive intent throughout, reaching his third ODI half-century in just 39 balls. However, he was dismissed soon after reaching the milestone while trying to hit a big shot. It was an impactful knock in the middle order from Samson.

Later, after the innings, Sanju Samson was asked about batting in a different position. Responding to this, Samson expressed his emotions and highlighted how it is challenging to be an Indian cricketer. He pointed out that he has been batting at different positions for the last 8-10 years. He said:

“Being an Indian cricketer is challenging, I have been here & there for the last 8-10 years, it’s all about the situation and how many overs left in the innings”.
