Suryakumar Yadav Stuns Himself With A Spectacular Catch-TGN

Sometimes fielders take such catches that they surprise themselves. Such was the case with India’s Suryakumar Yadav when he took a spectacular catch of West Indies opener Brandon King in the 2nd T20I on Sunday in Guyana.

Captain and pacer Hardik Pandya provided India with back-to-back strikes in the first over itself of West Indies’ chase of 153 runs in the 2nd T20I. He got rid of Brandon King on the first ball of the West Indies innings, courtesy of a sensational catch by Suryakumar Yadav.

Seeing a full, away singing ball outside his off-stump, Brandon King played a cover drive to a ball that swung away just a bit at the end. King didn’t keep his shot on the ground and Suryakumar Yadav took a brilliant diving catch at short extra cover. SKY spotted the ball quickly and went low to his right to complete a terrific caught.

He got up within less than a second and threw the ball up in the air with a big smile on his face. His elation indicating that he was immensely happy and yet stunned by this superb catch. Hardik Pandya, too, was all smiles and the Indians were pumped up as they had a perfect start to their defence of a par total.

Three balls later, with a similar delivery Hardik Pandya had Johnson Charles into his account. Like Brandon King, Johnson Charles also flayed at an away swinging delivery outside the off-stump. The ball caught the upper part of the bat and flew straight to Tilak Varma at the point position, so much that Varma didn’t even have to move from his spot.

Earlier, Tilak Varma continued his rise and notched up his maiden T20I fifty, with the help of which India crossed 150.
