The Marvels Runtime Listed By Theaters, Conflicting Movie Length Reports-TGN
Summary
The Marvels’ runtime remains uncertain as theater websites provide conflicting information.
The variation in reported runtimes is likely due to theater chains posting placeholder times until an official announcement is made by Marvel Studios.
The movie’s length could greatly impact the storytelling and pacing, with a longer runtime allowing for a sprawling story, while a leaner run could add an energetic pace that aligns with the trailers.

The Marvels‘ runtime has emerged through theater listings, but reports diverge on the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie’s actual length. The Captain Marvel sequel is the MCU’s final 2023 movie, and The Marvels‘ trailer teases an intriguing — and fun — new adventure on the way for the first meeting between Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan, and Maria Rambeau. To service its three heroes, The Marvels‘ runtime could be on the longer side of the MCU movies, and the reported runtime listed by theaters matches that, only there is a twist.
Multiple movie theater websites have started putting up The Marvels‘ runtime, but results vary from one website to another. For instance, Odeon puts The Marvels‘ runtime at 2 hours, 20 minutes. That length should be more than enough for The Marvels‘ story, with its multiple heroes and space travels; however, that number can fall when looking at other theaters, one being Cineworld, which has The Marvels‘ runtime listed as 2 hours. There are also theater chains like Cinemark that simply list The Marvels‘ runtime as 0 minutes.

Why The Marvels Runtimes Listed By Theaters Are All Different
Without an official announcement regarding The Marvels‘ runtime, the theater chains are most likely simply putting placeholder runtimes up. That practice is common and even relates to synopsis in many cases, with theaters picking up generic plot descriptions that are not official and sharing them on their website. That explains why The Marvels‘ runtime varies across the different theater listings.
While a runtime that exceeds two hours would be great for The Marvels, allowing the movie to tell what appears to be a sprawling story without rushing its characters’ arcs, it is more likely than not that all the reported runtimes for the movie so far are incorrect. Whenever Marvel Studios decides to reveal The Marvels‘ official runtime, the theaters will update their listings, and fans will be able to be happy or disappointed regarding the movie’s length.
While it would make sense for The Marvels to have a longer runtime, it is also possible that the movie could end up going for a leaner run. That could potentially add an energetic pace to The Marvels‘ story, which would be a match for the movie’s trailers. Marvel Studios’ two movies in 2023 so far — Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 — ran for 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 2 hours, 29 minutes, respectively. It remains to be seen if The Marvels will follow suit with a longer runtime or if the last MCU movie in 2023 will break the pattern.
