Screen Rant is thrilled to present an exclusive clip from the new Blumhouse movie The Passenger. This movie is distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment and is part of the deal between Blumhouse Television and MGM+ to produce eight original movies together. The thriller follows Randy, a young man content with his life until his coworker, Benson, takes an interest in him.

Benson goes on a shocking, volatile rampage, leaving a trail of destruction and bodies in his wake, and decides to drag Randy along with him. Now Randy must confront his past demons and face his fears in order to make it out alive. The Passenger will first be available on Digital and Video On Demand on August 4, and later this year it will debut on MGM+.

More About The Passenger

In Screen Rant’s exclusive clip of The Passenger, Randy, played by Johnny Berchtold (“Tiny Beautiful Things,” Snow Falls), nervously tries to ask Benson, played by Smile‘s Kyle Gallner, about a man they confronted as they drive. Benson quickly shuts him down, threatening to kill him, before reminding Randy that he is doing this for him. Benson tells him to forget it before reassuring them both that everything is fine. He then follows this up by asking Randy specifically if everything is cool, which seems like an odd turn in their dynamic, before Randy agrees.

Randy seems like an unwitting participant, with Benson forcibly taking him under his wing as he goes on a spree of murder and mayhem. However, this clip points to something deeper in their dynamic, as Benson looks for reassurance from Randy and seems to be targeting people because of Randy. This could mean that Randy actually plays a more prominent role in Benson’s plans, or perhaps an even more insidious twist is on the horizon, taking a page out of the Fight Club playbook with Randy being the one who truly snapped.

The Passenger is directed by Carter Smith and written by Jack Stanley. The Passenger stars Kyle Gallner, Johnny Berchtold, and Liza Weil. Jason Blum, Chris McCimber, Jeremy Gold, and Lauren Downey serve as executive producers on The Passenger.

The Passenger will be available on Digital and Vidoe On Demand on August 4, and it will also be available on MGM+ later this year.
