Virender Sehwag Has A Stern Message For Suryakumar Yadav-TGN

India’s spectacular victory against Australia was highlighted by a stunning performance from pacer Mohammed Shami and a redemptive effort from Suryakumar Yadav.

In the first of a three-match ODI series, the Indian national cricket team defeated their long-time rivals Australia with a spectacular show of cricketing mastery. India won by five wickets thanks to a stellar performance from their batting lineup and a career-best performance from pace bowler Mohammed Shami (5-51 not out). Cricket fans all around the globe were stunned by this incredible triumph, which was accomplished with just eight balls to spare.

After India won the toss and elected to field, Australia put up a respectable 276 runs. In response, India’s top six batters smashed the ball out of the park, with four of them scoring half-centuries. This performance of talent and resolve opened the path for India’s triumph and bodes well for the series going forward.

Suryakumar Yadav, who had been going through a rough patch in the ODI format for a while, emerged as a key performer in this game. After a dismal last three matches against Australia in which he scored three straight ducks, he was taken off of the starting lineup. Suryakumar scored a much-needed half-century because the team’s management had such unflinching trust in him.

The road to redemption was rocky for Suryakumar Yadav. Now when he had to face Australia again, the stakes were high. A superb knock of 50 runs off 49 balls was the perfect response from Yadav. The partnership that he formed with Indian captain KL Rahul (58 not out) was important in helping India win the first game of the three-game series. It was a time of victory for Yadav, who had overcome adversity to come out on top.

Virender Sehwag Has A Stern Message For Suryakumar Yadav

It was reported that after the Mohali game, Suryakumar Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin went back out on the pitch to get in some more batting practice. Experts in the game of cricket were baffled by the players’ commitment to training even after a win.

Ex-Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag had some interesting thoughts on the topic after the game. He said that he never put in a lot of time practising after games. While practice is important, Sehwag believes that a player’s mental tuning is even more crucial to his or her performance than the talents themselves.

“I didn’t need to. When you go out there, you put your 100 percent effort. Sometimes, you get out and it’s fine. But for me, that was it. I wouldn’t practice until the next day. I don’t know the reasons why he was knocking after the game, but I believed that you prepared for this particular game, you had the chance, you made a mistake and got out. Focus on the mistake, the mindset is more important. The skills won’t go anywhere, you don’t need practice,” said Sehwag.

He added: “It’s the mindset. What were you thinking when you play that shot, whether it was the right decision or not. The mental tuning is more important. You should’ve focussed on skills when you had those three ducks in a row. Now that you’ve scored runs, you have to tune yourself mentally.”

Sehwag’s words of wisdom to Suryakumar Yadav and other budding cricketers were straightforward: work on your mental approach and game-time judgement. Successful cricket players consistently analyse their performances to strengthen their mental toughness.

India not only won an exciting match against Australia but also reached a new high in the ICC rankings. The squad finally achieved the long-sought no. 1 position across all game forms. As a result of this victory, India is now ranked higher in ODIs than its long-time rivals Pakistan.
