Rohit Sharma names one Indian cricketer who can play BazBall for India -TGN

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was impressed with young debutant Ishan Kishan, who showed an aggressive approach to batting. Kishan recorded his maiden Test half century in just 32 balls during the second innings of the Final Test match in Trinidad.

He walked out to hit number 4 for an experienced Virat Kohli. Kishan repaid the team’s confidence with a whirlwind knock en route to a first half-century. He played an unbeaten knockout of 52 from 34 which helped team India reach a target of 365 runs against the home side. Earlier in the first innings, he scored 25 runs, including four boundaries.

Rohit Sharma praised Ishan for his great knock

Impressed with Ishan Kishan’s aggressive hitting ability, Rohit Sharma praised him for filling Rishabh Pant’s absence from the team. During the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma said:

“You need guys like Ishan. We wanted fast runs, we promoted him, he wasn’t afraid. He was the first to raise his hand,

He added: “In test matches you need guys who stabilize the innings, like Virat did, he played fantastic. You need the mix of everything. We have depth, we have variety. We’re in the right place. It’s about getting the job done’,

With Rishabh Pant missing the action, several pundits and fans believe that Kishan is the right choice as a goalkeeping striker for the team, especially in the longest form of the game.

Ishan Kishan praised Rohit for creating a comfortable environment

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan also praised his captain for not cluttering his mind and showing confidence in his game plan. He said Rohit monitors every player to create a comfortable environment. He said:

“He (Rohit) is a very experienced captain, knows how to deal with young people. I’ve seen him in IPL, ODIs and T20s how he follows up with every player, tries to keep them in the comfort zone so they don’t feel any pressure,”

He added: “When I went in he asked me to trust my own game, plan and not listen to anyone. So it’s a plus for a youngster to stay in the zone that captain and coaches have confidence in me.

Further, speaking of hitting for Virat Kohli, Kishan said:

“The plan was to counter the left-handed spinners trying to bowl at right-handers by throwing on the patches and it might have been difficult to score points for them,”

He added: “We didn’t plan on batting long, we already had a good lead, wanted to set a target and get them back on the field to get them out as quickly as possible. So the plan to send me forward was to play positively, score as many runs as possible in 10 overs.
