VIDEO: Yuzvendra Chahal Picks Two Wickets In 3 Balls In 1st T20I vs WI-TGN

Having sat on the bench for the entire 3-ODI series against the West Indies, Yuzvendra Chahal had a significant impact on the first T20I as soon as he came on to bowl by taking two wickets in a space of only 3 balls.

The 33-year-old leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who is India’s leading T20I wicket-taker and the top wicket-taker in the IPL history, hasn’t had the best of the faith from Team India’s management in the past three years, having missed out playing a single game in the last two T20 World Cups.

This twin strikes in his first over might be the start of something more positive in Yuzvendra Chahal’s hitherto uncertain India career.

He was brought on to bowl the fifth over after Brandon King had taken down the pacers in the first four overs. First, Yuzvendra Chahal broke the burgeoning opening stand by dismissing left-handed Kyle Mayers, trapped lbw. Mayers opted to not review the on-field decision of out. However, he would had regret of it as the hawk-eye then showed that the ball was missing the off-stump.

Two balls later with Brandon King on strike, Chahal bowled another full delivery. King tried to defend it but missed as the ball just slid on the surface. That was plumb lbw out. King, though, reviewed it and this time the hawk-eye showed the ball hitting the stumps.

In a space of just three balls, Yuzvendra Chahal had both the openers packing and two new batters at the crease, although Nicholas Pooran smashed 2 sixes and 2 fours in the next 6 balls he faced off Chahal and Axar.
