Yuzvendra Chahal Posts A Brilliant Message For Ravichandran Ashwin After The IND vs AUS 2nd ODI-TGN

In an exciting cricket match, Team India demonstrated their overwhelming domination against Australia, taking a commanding 2-0 series lead. This success is all the more impressive given the absence of important players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya.

Yuzvendra Chahal Posts A Brilliant Message For Ravichandran Ashwin After The IND vs AUS 2nd ODI:

Stellar Performance by the Batters

The Indian batting lineup astounded viewers with their outstanding skill on the pitch. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, both of whom scored centuries, were instrumental in guiding India to victory. KL Rahul maintained his superb form by adding another fifty runs to his tally. Suryakumar Yadav, who played a blitzkrieg innings and achieved a career-high score, was the outstanding performer. As a consequence, India compiled a strong total of 399 for five, posing a tough challenge to Australia.

Ashwin’s Spectacular Bowling Display

While the batters took the front stage, experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin led the effort in the bowling department. His performance was even more amazing given that this was just his second straight One Day International (ODI) appearance in 20 months. On that eventful Sunday in Indore, Ashwin’s world-record writing performance did not go unnoticed.

After Prasidh Krishna struck early, taking two wickets in two deliveries and dismissing stand-in captain Steve Smith for a golden duck, Australia attempted to regroup with David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne. Warner, in particular, was aggressive in his approach and added another half-century to his tally. However, it was Ashwin’s planned genius that caused the Australian batting order to crumble.

In the 13th over, Ashwin used his trademark carrom balls to remove Labuschagne. He even managed to dismiss Warner, who tried to bat right-handed against him, in a surprising show of versatility. Ashwin’s dominance continued as he dispatched Josh Inglis in the same over. Australia’s score dropped from 89 for 2 to 101 for 5 in only 12 balls.

With this outstanding effort, Ashwin established himself as India’s most wicket-taker against a single opponent in international cricket. Ashwin’s aggregate of 144 wickets against Australia surpassed the famous Kapil Dev’s (141 wickets against Pakistan) and the legendary Anil Kumble’s (142 wickets against Australia). This total comprises 114 wickets from 22 Tests, 20 wickets from 17 ODIs, and 10 wickets from nine T20Is.

Chahal’s Tribute to Ashwin

Yuzvendra Chahal, one of Ashwin’s colleagues, paid homage to the spinner’s epic performance on social media. Chahal remarked in a five-word message, “Ravichandran Ashwin name is enough @ashwinravi99 #Legend.” This homage symbolises the team’s appreciation for Ashwin and the adoration of cricket fans worldwide.

With India leading the series 2-0, the question is whether Ravichandran Ashwin would continue to excel in the last match against Australia in Rajkot. The solution is primarily dependent on the recovery of Axar Patel, the spin all-rounder who must pass a fitness test.
